Teddy park5/30/2023 ![]() US loves their music because it’s fresh and new every time. They’re doing phenomenal in Korea, Japan, USA and UK. If they carry on this way then they will just continue to stay in kpop and not branch out as much. It’s obvious that blackpink was created to target the western industry however they need creativity and originality if they want to make it. However it has worked for them this long but how long will that last? That’s the real question. Dddd/Ktl/hylt/whistle/boombayah they all follow the same style and nothing different or creative. In my opinion blackpink title tracks are the same. I think that blackpink needs a change of producers. Here's just a small fraction of some of the absolute classics Teddy has been on: 'Sunmi - Gashina', 'Taeyang - White Knight', 'BLACKPINK - Boombayah', 'G-Dragon - Bullshit', ALL OF MADE (Loser, Bae Bae, Bang Bang Bang, We like 2 Party, Sober, Zutter, Let's Not Fall in Love' like jesus MADE is a masterpiece, this is the quality Teddy has shown in the past. G-Dragon is coming back soon, and I hope that his return revitalises Teddy in a way, because honestly seeing him putting out mediocre music is so saddening. However, when we look at third gen big three, the music that BLACKPINK is putting out (MUSICALLY SPEAKING) is lacking so much compared to what Twice and Red Velvet are putting out. I don't know if the drama in YG has caused this, or maybe not having G-Dragon involved in any music production has caused Teddy to fall off, I don't know, we can only speculate it. ![]() They're 3rd gen 2ne1, but their music recently doesn't show this, and this is Teddy's fault. It's showing the most with BLACKPINK however, the girls have a huge fanbase, and because of this their music draws attention, but nothing has been staying with me - and I know a lot of others who look at k-pop music musically rather than 'Stan Culture' - from BLACKPINK's tracks recently. 'What're you waiting for' is okay, but this comes after two years of Teddy being mediocre. 'Birthday' and 'What're you waiting for' are the two Teddy songs that Somi has put out, but 'Birthday' had a b-track called 'Outta My Head' written by Somi, and it's a bop. The chorus sounds like a nursery rhyme beat and the lyrics are something else - especially the English lines which I'll admit Teddy has never been good at. 'How you Like That' while catchy is honestly nothing more than that. ![]() Needless to say BLACKPINK's last too title tracks have been lacklustre. I'm using this: as reference for what he's produced recently.
